An Integrative Approach to Therapy.

  • A trauma-informed approach indicates a strong understanding of the impacts of trauma on the lives of individuals by exploring its impacts on emotions, behaviours, worldview, and overall well-being.

With this approach therapists focus on creating a safe, supportive environment for individuals. The goal is to help clients feel empowered by building trust and safety in a space of compassion and understanding. Therapists and client work closely in collaboration to develop a treatment plan to meet the unique needs and experiences.

  • Polyvagal Theory highlights the autonomic nervous system, primarily the vagus nerve, in regulating health and behaviour. It identifies three distinct states of autonomic function, each with their own unique physiological responses.

In psychotherapy, understanding polyvagal theory helps the therapist recognize clients' stress and trauma responses, allowing therapists to tailor and implement interventions that promote nervous system regulation to foster safety and healing.

The therapist’s role is to create a safe, open space where you can freely explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of judgment. Through this authentic self-exploration, you'll gain deeper insight into who you are, fostering greater understanding, personal growth, and lasting healing.

  • Somatic therapy explores how the body stores and expresses deeply painful experiences, applying the mind-body connection to heal and aid with trauma recovery. This modality allows clients to reconnect with their bodies by increasing mindful awareness of physiological responses.

Some interventions include; resourcing, titration & pendulation, sequencing, mindful meditations, and somatic movement such as dance and yoga.
